If you own a cat or dog, you know how frustrating it is sometimes when you’re busy and your pet needs to go outside. There’s a solution to that and it’s installing a pet passage door in the screen door. You will never need to open the door for your dog again. This is a great weekend project and can be easily assembled in one day. To make it easier, each pet passage door comes with a guide to use and also installation instructions.

The easiest way to install a pet passage door on the screen door is to remove it first. Although the difficulties will vary from house to house, but most screen doors are held in place with hinges. Simply take a screwdriver and remove all the screws from the hinges. Since screws are tiny, make sure to put them into a sealable plastic bag so you can find them later.

After the door is out, lay it flat on the table or workbench and wipe off any debris first. Next you will need to mark the area you will be cutting. The pet door instructions should give you the recommended size to cut on the screen door. Carefully measure out the hole and mark it with a pencil.

Once the marking is on the door, use a hacksaw or for quicker cutting, use a powered angle grinder that has an aluminum cutting stone. You’ll want to make the cut as clean as possible so it will be easier to install the pet door.

After that is all complete, you’re ready to install the pet passage door. Follow the direction on the pet door instructions. After everything is in place, clean off any shavings and put the screen door back.

Pet doors are great for the busy family who happen to own a dog or cat. You can find pet doors in 3 sizes. Stop by Woodshop.Net for more details and information. There innovative screen and storm doors have a built in wooden door flap that can be made large or small, to accommodate any size dog – or cat.

The flap swings both ways and is magnetized, so it will close once your pet goes through. A slide bolt lock is included, so you can lock the flap either for security or to keep your pet inside or outside of your home.

Our flaps are designed to blend in with the door – unlike the plastic door flaps most commonly used. This catalog features approximately 30 designs that will enhance your lifestyle and compliment the architecture of your home.

Woodshop Net Can Manufacture Any Dog Door Designs In Any Model That Starts With 367…

large = 16″ x 20″ opening

A screen door latch is what keeps your screen door shut tightly to prevent the wind from catching it and blowing the door open. Occasionally there comes a time when these will need replaced, or the homeowner simply wants to change it.

Operability

Like anything else, the screen door latch may begin to have issues with use and age. The most common failure with these latches seems to be wearing of the inner springs. As they wear out, they begin to lose their tension and the latch doesn’t catch properly with the striker plate. If your latch is experiencing any of these issues, it may be time to upgrade.

* Door doesn’t latch properly.

* The latch is hard to operate and get open.

Types of Latches

There are a couple of basic types of screen door latch assemblies that are in common use today. The one you choose will depend entirely upon what best suits you.

* Thumb latch – This type features a handle that you would grasp, and you would press the button in with your thumb to get the door open. This type is very common and more susceptible to failure as springs wear and become weakened with use.

* Door knob style – You grasp the handle and turn, just as you would any other doorknob, to get the door open. These have internal springs as well but for some reason they don’t seem to be as susceptible to failure as the thumb latch type.

Different Styles

You can find a screen door latch in literally hundreds of different styles. The only real limitation to this is the type of screen door that you have, and then some simple modifications, you can overcome even those limitations. Other than that, you want to choose a style that “fits” the outdoor style of your home and not clash with it. These styles include latches that are constructed of brass, aluminum, or other types of metal and the design can be something from basic to ornate.

Other Considerations

Another aspect that you may want to consider when you buy your new screen door latch, is whether or not you want one that is lockable. These types of latches can offer a bit more security for those who are security conscious, not to mention the added safety factor that you get when you have children in the home.

Planning a backyard party? Now the threat of rain or pesky flying insects is no longer a problem. Our garage screens eliminate both; plan your party without fear because our garage door screen allows you to move the party into the garage, free from weather-conditions and annoying bugs. The garage screen is easy to install: the garage door screen kit includes hook-and-loop fastening strips that attach to the jambs and header of your garage-door opening. The nylon garage screens are pressed directly onto the hook-and-loop strips for quick assembly or permanently attachment with the screws and anchors (included). The garage screens easily roll up when not in use. Weigh the garage screens in place by inserting your own conduit into the bottom channel. Heavy-duty magnetic strips keep the pass-thru opening of the garage door screen closed so mosquitoes stay out. Consider the garage screens for other occasions: kid’s playtime out of the sun’s harmful rays or when working on a project in the garage.

Our garage door screen can quickly save an outdoor party from rain by turning your garage into Party Central

Install garage screens temporarily with the hook-and-loop fastening strips or permanently with the screws and anchors included in the garage door screen kit

Roll the garage screens out of the way when not in use

SCREENEZE® is the latest technology in porch screening and this new patented Porch Screening System is an easy to install two-piece snap design, which does not require spline or rolling tools. The Base is extruded aluminum, and the Snap Cap is extruded vinyl. Simply attach the Base along the entire edge of the inside or outside perimeter of your opening. Lay your screen wire on the face of the Base and snap the Vinyl Cap onto one side. Then pull the wire across the opening, pulling just tight enough to take out the slack, snap the Vinyl Cap onto the opposing side. As the Vinyl Cap depresses onto the base, the wire is pulled into the cap channel thereby stretching the wire. No need to worry about bending or bowing the Base since it will be firmly attached to the frame opening with self-drilling screws 10 inches (254 millimeter) apart (painted screws are supplied). The SCREENEZE® System works with all 18 x 16, 18 x 14, and 20 x 20 fiberglass screen wire.

Most people buy their screen doors from the store, and all they need to do is install it. For others, they prefer to build it themselves. Building a screen can be fun and exciting and a great weekend project.

To get started, you’ll need some basic equipment such as paint, a hardware frame for the screen door, a mesh, nails, gloves, and glue. As for the tools, you’ll need to get a hammer, spade, chisels, a circular saw, a knife, couple small clamps, a tape measure, and staples.

As for the lumber, you can buy those pre-cut or cut them yourself. Lumber comes in different quality as well. Since this is a screen door that people will see before entering your home, you may want to get the highest quality lumber at the store. They can be expensive but it’s worth it.

Before you begin, you’ll need to arrange the materials first so it will be easier to build the screen door. Put all the wood in one place and all the other materials in another place. This way when you’re ready to start building, you’ll know where each piece is.

Cutting and assembling the screen door will be different since everyone has their own style of doing things. If you never built a screen door before, you may want watch DVD on building screen door or reading a book on it first. This way, you’ll get a general idea of how to build a screen door.

Screen door are easy to build and fun to do too. Once you’re complete with the project and the door is in place, you’ll have a much greater appreciation for it since you built it yourself.

If your looking to buy a complete fully assemble custom wood screen door, visit www.woodshop.net their quality and selection is wonderful.

Ask Your Contractor For Super Screen ®

Here’s why.

Super Screen is the newest technology available in protection for pool, patio or porch outdoor casual living. Super Screen is the perfect choice for the homeowner who demands the very best in family enjoyment and safety outdoors while providing a high-quality, long-lasting home improvement investment.

Low Maintenance:

Super Screen creates an outdoor fabric enclosure that is superior to that of today’s fiberglass screen fabrics. This new technology is setting a new durability standard for outdoor screen - – for increased strength, stability against deterioration from exposure to the sun, and tear resistance. Combined with a previously unavailable Ten-Year Limited Warranty, you have an investment that will last and last – with fewer repairs, less maintenance and big savings in potential replacement costs.

Long Lasting Screen:

Until now, screen fabrics for outdoor enclosures have been limited in strength and durability, needing replacement in only a few years due to puncture, tearing or breakdown from exposure to the sun. The fiberglass screen material available today can become hard and brittle within 3 to 4 years, to the point it can be easily damaged by pets, flying objects (like a golf ball) or children at play. Within 6 to 7 years, with deterioration, a strong gust of wind can tear fiberglass screen to shreds.

Extrusion Coated Super Screen Outlasts Fiberglass:

It provides the homeowner many years of worry-free durability and protection, by incorporating superior tear resistance and tensile strength. Super Screens advanced polymer formula defies deterioration. In a simulated seven-year weathering test, Super Screen lost only 1% of its original strength. In fact, it remained 3 times stronger than new fiberglass screen.

Ten (10) Year Limited Warranty:

Super Screen last a minimum of seven years longer than the leading fiberglass screen. Super Screen screening fabric exceeds the requirements of Section 553.73 of the Florida Building Code. Super Screen is the new generation of outdoor screen is guaranteed to last.

Durability:

This new fabric provides more than just a “good enough” screen. It provides insect and pest protection, privacy, safety, and debris control. Super Screen offers the homeowner extended durability and protection by incorporating superior tear resistance and tensile strength. It gives the homeowner a quality investment and trouble-free enjoyment, with lasting aesthetic appeal and low maintenance. Before Super Screen, outdoor screen products only gave customers choices between beneficial characteristics or features. There were no other choices – no protection against punctures, tears or frequent deterioration. Super Screen offers them all – so the most important, benefits of screen protection don’t have to be eliminated.

Mildew Resistant:

Super Screen fabric includes a biocide compound that resists mildew growth, yielding longer lasting beauty from the fabric.

Low Maintenance:

Super Screen creates an outdoor fabric enclosure that is superior to that of today’s fiberglass screen fabrics. This new technology is setting a new durability standard for outdoor screening for increased strength, stability against deterioration from exposure to the sun, and tear resistance. Combined with a previously unavailable Ten-Year Limited Warranty, you have an investment that will last and last – with fewer repairs, less maintenance and big savings in potential replacement costs.

Compare Cost:

Over the life of the fabric, with an unmatched warranty, Super Screen will prove to be a smart, worry free investment. Super Screen has a life expectancy of more than 10 years and is backed by a 10-year limited warranty. The average lifespan of fiberglass fabric is approximately 6 years, and is backed by only a 1-3 year warranty.

Tear and Puncture Resistant:

A combination of superior strength and weight create unmatched durability in Super Screen. At 6.5 oz. per sq. yd., Super Screen is 18% heavier than competitor offerings. Unlike fabric made of dip-coated fiberglass, Super Screen fabric utilizes an extrusion-coated polyester core yarn, which results in superior tear and tensile strength that is 300% stronger than competitive offerings* and extended life of the product. These features translate into a fabric highly resistant to punctures and tears, caused by falling debris and pet or pest damage, * Strengths are industry-established measures for the amount of force required to tear both damaged and undamaged textile products. The polymer and polyester properties of Super Screen defy deterioration. In a simulated seven-year weathering test, Super Screen lost only 1% of its original strength. It remained 3 times stronger than fiberglass screen.

Stability from UV Damage:

The UV tolerant properties of Super Screen reveal themselves in the form of unsurpassed color retention, longevity, and filtering characteristics. With Super Screen, extended exposure to the sun will not result in the bleaching, flaking, and fading, like other screens. Fiberglass screen tends to get brittle with age and sun exposure, while Super Screen is virtually unaffected – which means it will look newer longer and save on maintenance.

Available Widths:

Super Screen mesh is available in 17/14, 17/17 and 20/20 in Black, White and various colors depending on the quantity of rolls ordered. It can be supplied in roll widths ranging from 24” wide – 120” wide.
